             abstract = "Objetivo da presente pesquisa foi executar uma a{\c{c}}{\~a}o de 
                         inicia{\c{c}}{\~a}o cientifica direcionada ao uso das 
                         geotecnologias para alunos de ensino m{\'e}dio da rede estadual 
                         de ensino, entre 2016 a 2017. Como principal resultado, pode ser 
                         mencionado a pesquisa de um aluno, que realizou uma estimativa da 
                         perda de {\'a}reas de manguezais em dois bairros da capital 
                         maranhense entre 1986 a 2014, utilizando imagens de sat{\'e}lite. 
                         Com a mencionada pesquisa, o aluno participou da 69a 
                         edi{\c{c}}{\~a}o da reuni{\~a}o da Sociedade Brasileira para o 
                         Progresso da Ci{\^e}ncia em 2017 e conseguiu ainda, vencer a 
                         maior premia{\c{c}}{\~a}o cient{\'{\i}}fica do Maranh{\~a}o 
                         (o Pr{\^e}mio FAPEMA). Promovendo a populariza{\c{c}}{\~a}o da 
                         ci{\^e}ncia em toda a comunidade escolar maranhense, al{\'e}m de 
                         apresentar dados reais sobre a perda de {\'a}reas de manguezais 
                         no meio urbano. ABSTRACT: The Objective was to carry out an action 
                         of scientific initiation directed to the use of geotechnologies 
                         for high school students in the state education network, in the 
                         period from March 2016 to December 2017. As a main result, it can 
                         be mentioned the research of a student, which estimated the loss 
                         of mangrove areas in two neighborhoods of the Maranh{\~a}o 
                         capital between 1986 and 2014, using satellite imagery. With the 
                         mentioned research, the student participated in the 69th edition 
                         of the meeting of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of 
                         Science (SBPC) in 2017 and also managed to win the largest 
                         scientific award in Maranh{\~a}o in the same year; thus 
                         promoting, the popularization of science throughout the school 
                         community of Maranh{\~a}o.",
